Shirley Ruth Gleason of Talent, Oregon passed away December 31, 2021 while residing at Suncrest Place Assisted Living Community in Talent. Shirley was born October 5, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Jerry and Jessie Cotton. Her parents later moved to Muskegon, Michigan where she grew up and married Gerald Arial Gleason in 1946. While in the Navy the couple’s four children, Terry, Lunette, Randall, and Eric were born while stationed at various military bases around the USA including Muskegon, Guam, Seattle, and El Centro. Shortly after retiring from the Navy, the couple moved to Talent, Oregon where they lived until her husband’s death in 2007 and Shirley’s death in 2021. Her children invite you to join them in sharing memories of their mother at a Memorial Service and reception to be held at 11:00 am on January 10 at Ashland First Baptist Church located at 2004 Siskiyou Blvd, Ashland, Oregon. Instead of honoring Shirley Gleason with flowers, contributions can be made to Shirley Gleason's Memorial Fund that will be used to build housing for staff at Kathmanudu's Institute of Theology, and make checks out to AFB Church Memorial Fund.
